The FIA Formula 1 World Championship, abbreviated as F1, is the highest level annual series of track racing events organized by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). It is the highest level of racing competition in the world today and is known as one of the "three major sporting events in the world" along with the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup. The first race was held at the Silverstone circuit in the UK in 1950.
